Lately I’ve been thinking of getting a tatoo. People always ask why, further adding how it could affect my chances of finding work later on. It may be a stretch to say this, however wouldn’t that be the equivalent of imposing conformity upon individuals (note the word individuals and not collectives) to all be the same.
This appears to be a form of discrimination on the basis of difference from the status quo. Similarly in the case of being undermined, treated differently or overlooked by employers and work colleagues due to ones sexual orientation, gender, ethnicity or religious beliefs. This flies in the face of whether or not the person is qualified for and more than capable of performing the work of non tatooed individuals.
A personal choice to be different, should not not be the basis for being marginalised. Yes it still happens, however lets start accepting our differnces.
JUST SAYING
